At Tadika Cahaya Merah, SS2, we strive to create a beautiful and welcoming environment for children aged 3 to 6 years. We take elements from the “Sunshine Li Ren” curriculum and pair it with locally appropriate practices in order to prepare children for primary school and beyond. It is our goal to cover the full scope of skills that children should master at this stage so that they can have a happy childhood and a better tomorrow.
Everything takes place within a safe and secure environment that is surrounded by a spacious compound. Outdoor learning and being able to discover new things through plenty of hands-on, real-life experiences are a valuable part of our curriculum. Hence, we carefully prepare our learning spaces with a wide variety of equipment, including outdoor playground, aquaponics, little garden, wishy-washy land, messy art area, spaces for sand and water play, to name but a few.
Even before the coronavirus pandemic, we are vigilant about making sure all learning environments are free from preventable risks. There are detailed standard operating procedures to start the day with hygiene and temperature checks, followed by proper steps to sanitise materials and surfaces regularly.
We offer a unique, and helpful, pre-enrollment feature where children undergo a talent and potential consultation conducted by a child psychologist, Mr. Walter Tan. He analyses each child’s individual personality, learning preferences and behavioural patterns. With this insight on hand, our teachers can then personalise learning according to the child’s unique style and strengths accurately, while working on their weaker aspects.
A key feature that distinguishes us from others is our “Habitualised Programme”. It teaches children from a young age the basics of proper etiquette, how to behave appropriately in social situations, showing respect to others and how to sustain a self-sufficient lifestyle. This is done through fun activities that are practiced on a daily basis in school and are reinforced at home by parents. Over time, children will become more polite and well-rounded. Parents will be proud to find children who have graduated from any Li Ren kindergartens to be independent individuals who exhibit good manners and have great empathy for others.
