Victoriashire School has a commitment to the care and growth of each child as a whole and unique person. We wish to build on his/ her natural interest in learning and to foster his or her fascination with the world.
International Baccalaureate’s (IB) Primary Year Programme (PYP)
During the early years, the emphasis is on literary to prepare children to read and write, with the beginning of a foundation in all areas of personal and academic developments. Our early years programme will be based on the International Baccalaureate’s (IB) Primary Year Programme (PYP) framework which offers highly respected and world-class educational programmes, aiming to prepare young child to become positive, active and lifelong learners. It is enhanced with Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin. It is a foundation that nurtures young children to develop thinking skills, self-confidence and achieve independence in learning and personal development.
In the PYP a balance is sought between acquisition of essential knowledge and skills, development of conceptual understanding, demonstration of positive attitudes, and taking of responsible action.
In terms of achieving this balance, FIVE essential elements of the curriculum are emphasized:
STEM & CODING Education
STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics — in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Rather than teach the four disciplines as separate and discrete subjects, STEM integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications.
PERFORMANCE ARTS PROGRAM
Lastly but not the least, we include YAMAHA Music Friends Course as part of our curriculum, cultivating enthusiasm and sensitivity through musical activities for our students. In addition, we also include other performance arts and sports education such as Ballet Course, Drama Play, Sports, Futsal, Gymnastic, etc.
