The Children's House TTDI 2

The Taman Tun Dr. Ismail neighbourhood in Kuala Lumpur has always been dear to the school, with not one but two branches in the area.

The newer branch – The children’s house TTDI 2 – is located along Persiaran Zaaba and was opened in 2018. It houses both a junior and senior campus, the latter which was set up in 2022 to provide its pupils with advanced learning opportunities through its Montessori Senior Programme (4 – 6 years).

Beautiful campus equipped with first-class facilities

The children’s house TTDI 2 features a beautiful and contemporary design that is both cosy and conducive for learning.

Interiors are painted in the brand’s signature colours of red and white, with French doors that seamlessly connect the school’s indoor and outdoor spaces, whilst also illuminating common areas with natural light.

Meanwhile, classrooms are bathed in soft lighting and feature wooden, child-sized furniture, creating a welcoming ambience that truly feels like a second home.

Building strong foundations through holistic learning experiences

Central to every child’s school experience here is the best of what the Montessori curriculum has to offer–a balanced play- and academic-based approach that allows children to grow at their own pace to become independent learners who are respectful, responsible, and mindful.

In line with the principles of Montessori, children enjoy access to a variety of materials and resources to promote independence and self-driven learning. There is a natural progression in the curriculum from the Junior to Senior classes.

At the Junior level, activities capitalise on play to help little ones experiment, make sense of the world, express their curiosity and cultivate a range of important foundational skills. By drawing on their natural desires to play and explore, children become motivated and develop positive feelings towards learning.

With these strong foundations established, the emphasis shifts towards enhancing life and academic skills at the Senior level, to prepare the children for Primary 1, whether they choose to further their studies in local or international primary schools.

The children are taught reading, writing, language, music, science, and mathematics through an integrated approach that emphasises positive reinforcement and guidance, ensuring they feel competent and driven to face the next level of their learning journey.

Like how learning is done at the Junior level, the pace in the Senior classes remains unhurried, and children are treated with respect and given autonomy in their learning decisions.

The main difference lies in the complexity of tasks and tools, as the older age group will have age-appropriate work to develop their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities – empowering them to work through challenges independently and face new environments with confidence.

To further add to the child’s overall growth and development, the school offers enrichment programmes spanning English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia classes, as well as robotics and sports. Balanced meals are also provided, ensuring the children’s nutritional needs are met at every stage.

Conclusion

Whether it’s at their Junior or Senior campus, The children’s house TTDI 2’s prepared environment provides an optimal early childhood learning experience that readies children not just for school, but for life.

Teachers are dedicated and strive to do their best for each child that walks through the school’s doors, ensuring they get to spend their formative years within a consistent community of care, where they can build meaningful, lasting relationships with their peers and teachers.
