Tadika Grace Community was established in 1994 by Mr. and Mrs. Pillai. It was formed as an expression of the surrounding community to create a caring, supportive, family-centred environment. This remains foremost in the school’s approach. Tadika Grace Community’s reputation is rightly gained through the provision of a solid foundation for children’s ongoing academic life, one that thrives on values-based instructions.

Paving Learning Paths

In this inclusive learning community, children receive a caring and holistic education. The team of experienced educators are trained to deliver the Standard National Preschool Curriculum and selected International Preschool Curriculum for students aged 3 to 6 years. The strength of the programme reflects over two decades of experience in education. The school’s prime offerings include:

Play Group (3-4 years)

An inspiring Early Years experience begin to support children through play and experimentation set within a dedicated and stimulating environment. The focus is set on nurturing the inquisitive minds of children to build strong foundations during the most formative years of their lives. Pedagogical methods strive to build a positive sense of self in each child, building a basic core of positive character values and motivation for learning. The approach is activity-based, hands-on and group-oriented. Children are engaged through an array of activities that involves puzzles, blocks, motor skills equipment, videos, audio clips, computer-aided learning, pretend play, singing, storytelling, rhymes and more.

K-1 (4-5 years)

As children move through the programme, they cover topics such as Math, English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, Art and Craft, Music, Moral, Reading, Phonics, and Physical Education. The programme promotes links across the curriculum, allowing children to consolidate connections between literacy, sensory, music movement, artistic development, motor and cognitive skills, creative and imagination development, social and emotional skills, core character values, and cultural elements and beliefs.

K-2 (6 years)

The programme continues with an intensified concept of learning within a more controlled environment, preparing students for success as they move through higher levels of education. The academic offering extends to include Science, and Speech and Drama.

ACE & Christie (4-6 years)

Families have the option to enroll their children in this programme, where the elementary curriculum is taught through a Christian lens. Children are provided with academics, reading practice, skill building, character and wisdom training. Reading development is supported with developmentally appropriate materials including full-colour picture stories.

Balanced Learning Experience

The student population is small and the school reaps the benefits of its size, namely a high level of individual attention and a clear sense of belonging. It is small enough to maintain a close, connected feel throughout the school, while large enough to allow for a full spectrum of curricular and extracurricular programming. The breadth of programming includes sports day, field trips, holiday camps and concert performances. Through these experiences, children are encouraged to learn teamwork, discipline, responsibility, self-confidence, social skills and peer-to-peer consideration.

The school consciously built all educational concepts into the programmes: after-school play group care that runs until 7 p.m., a balanced menu built around locally sourced whole foods, and an effective security system featuring well-marked guards, CCTV surveillance and access control doors.

Character Building

Families are also drawn by the values, particularly character development, which undergird the academic programme. At the heart of the school’s teaching, children are nurtured to be well-rounded individuals with a set of qualities and skills that would allow them to adapt to the society in the future. Efforts to instill the values of integrity, respect, responsibility and citizenship in the children are demonstrably strong.

A Strong Home-School Partnership

At Tadika Grace Community, the development is around the community, including an ongoing dedication to foster a strong home-school partnership. A robust interface between parents and the school is encouraged through close, regular communication during the academic year. The faculty boasts highly-trained educators who will strive their best to help children overcome learning challenges or other developmental delays. The unwavering sense of responsibility and care extends to families who require further therapeutic support.

Best Interests of the Child

While most schools are managed by business owners, the educational approach at Tadika Grace Community seeks to build on the student’s interests and wellbeing. Service is central to the foundational elements of a strong academic programme and is underscored by the dedication towards educating children into respectful, responsible, confident and considerate individuals. Certainly, there is a lot to love about the school – a consistent approach to both curricular and extracurricular development, the agility to address student interest, consistent social support, a sense of community and overall, a positive learning experience.
