Tadika Berdikari, Equine Park, Seri Kembangan

Tadika Berdikari, Equine Park, Seri Kembangan provides preschool, day care services and homework coaching for 3- to 12-year-olds. The centre aims to prepare children for primary school with essential academic knowledge and other important skills like independence and discipline.

Co-founder and principal Ms. Yip has set up this place to create a second home for children and to cater to the needs of working parents. Parents can opt to leave their children here for a full day from 7.30am to 7.00pm.

Safe and Clean Environment

It is located on the top floor and spread across two spacious shop lots. The environment inside is well-prepared with various facilities including open learning space, individual classrooms, keyboard corner, sofa resting area, and shower and nap rooms. Children also get to have plenty of fun at its indoor playground that is surrounded by swings, lego wall, scooters and bicycles.

On top of that, the state of the centre is kept clean and safe at all times. The entrance is locked, only allowing authorised families to enter. Daily cleaning and sanitization of the premise is performed, and children are reminded to practise good hygiene to mitigate risks for COVID-19 transmission.

Diversified Learning Programme

Children learn according to the established KSPK curriculum. The lessons are guided by different themes that are relevant to their age groups, such as transportation, fruits and animals. Every day, they get to enjoy various hands-on, multisensorial activities that motivate them to learn naturally.

The curriculum exposes children to many different areas of learning to help them build a strong foundation for primary school.

To ensure that children receive the attention they need to grow healthily, teachers assign them to small classes when learning. This way even children who are slightly slower or a little shyer can remain engaged. Children also get extra guidance with their homework and lesson revision when they are here.      

Major cultural festivities such as Chinese New Year and Hari Raya are also celebrated, where children get to wear costumes, try different foods and take part in exciting activities. During pre-COVID years, children get to see the world around them through educational outings to interesting places like the farm and fire station.

For a wholesome development, teachers emphasise on instilling good moral values into children. They use lesson time, free play and daily routines to promote positive character traits, and making children understand the importance of getting along well with friends.   

Nutritious Meals

Just like what parents would cook for their children at home, the centre serves well-balanced meals and snacks to nourish this growing bunch. The weekly menu includes a wide variety of different foods that meet children’s nutritional needs. Mealtimes are also great opportunities for children to enhance new vocabulary, while practising good table manners.
