About Scholar Base
The word ‘Base’ is synonymous with the development of a foundation or structure. When you put ‘Scholar’ together, Scholar Base is a place which lays the foundation in the development of a scholar – one who loves to read, writes well, expresses his thoughts fluently and has the self-confidence to think beyond the box.
Scholar Base offers two major modules: Reading and Writing. The unique features of these programmes are how the classes are conducted. The programmes employ an active approach to learning, positive competition, and various games in class, to motivate the children. Lessons are in conducted in the guise of games and fun activities to ensure children’s enjoyment and concentration, and not to place undue pressure which will adversely stifle their enthusiasm for learning.
Children as young as 4 years old will learn to master our Scholar Base Phonics system, which is an effective tool in developing their reading skills. Two years on, these children would be able to read our in-house storybooks, Aladdin and Pinocchio. The primary school children who are able to read would proceed to writing classes where their writing skills are developed and refined over four stages. At the writing level, their reading skills will continue to advance, and eventually, they will progress to reading novels such as Treasure Island, Animal Farm, the Chronicles of Narnia and Hunger Games.
