It is clear that young children are capable of much more than what was previously imagined. As they eagerly ask questions in a constant quest for information and strive to learn how the world works, it is important to provide them with supportive and stimulating environments. Justly, this is what Pusat Jagaan & Taska EIQ, Bukit Tinggi Klang strives to address. The delivery of care and services reflect a strong commitment to participative and collaborative efforts to life-long learning. They are consistent with the belief that children need to be actively involved in the program in order for them to extend their thinking and desire to learn well in the future.

Early Years Learning

The childcare centre is one promising avenue for laying a strong early childhood foundation for children aged 2 to 6 years. Children learn through the National Preschool Standard Curriculum, attaining the educational outcomes prescribed by the Malaysia Ministry of Education. Learning also highlights Montessori principles, methods and ideas, where children discover knowledge through hands-on learning and collaborative play. The approach is focused on facilitating children’s natural sense of curiosity and wonderment to discover knowledge and learn to understand the world around them. A well-planned model of learning drives children to ask questions, express themselves, interact, learn through play and expand their thinking, all with the prospect of establishing independent, confident and capable learners. Teachers seek to promote learning with understanding rather than memorizing, linking outcomes with subject areas covering English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, Mathematics, Science, Moral, Art and Craft, Music and Movement, intelligence quotient (IQ) course and physical activity. All subject areas are integrated under simple themes such as animals, food, occupation and vehicles. Children are given the chance to demonstrate their understandings of the themes in multiple ways including hands-on activities, workbooks, singing, role-playing, physical indoor and outdoor play, and learning through interactive multimedia portals. These themes are woven through multiple domains of learning – language, cognitive, aesthetic, fine and gross motor skills, creative development, physical development and social-emotional development. Together they serve as a basis to support school readiness.

Full-day Programme

Children who stay on for the full-day programme are provided with additional activities that are designed to further enhance their learning and development. Aftercare consists of language enrichment, art and craft activities, music and movement, New Mathematics, and a snack. New Mathematics is an intelligence quotient (IQ) based Taiwanese mathematics curriculum designed to build proficiency in understanding, problem-solving and thorough reasoning in mathematical concepts.

Growth and Development Measures

Teachers are committed to each individual child, watching their journey with dedication and care. A systematic monthly assessment is carried out to monitor and evaluate children’s performance and progress, and the effectiveness of teacher’s instructions. Measures for individual development include early communication, literacy, social-emotional and problem-solving. Progress and growth are shared with parents on a biannual basis to promote higher positive outcomes.

A Wholesome Educational Experience

For a complete fun-filled educational experience, field trips are organized to offer real-world learning moments that leave lasting impressions. Concert performances, family days and holiday programmes all find place within the curriculum. Nutrition is equally as important as the learning experiences and children are kept full from plenty of nutritious ingredients that form a well-balanced menu.

Learn Today, Lead Tomorrow

Encircled by the motto “Happy Children, Assured Parents”, parents can entrust the childcare centre with the education, safety and well-being of their children. The programmes and environment enables children to develop lifelong skills of independence, resilience, empowerment and social competence, giving them the best possible start as they prepare to begin school.
