A Whole Kindie World Underneath a Plaza

Take you to wonder by wonder underneath Plaza Jelutong, Shah Alam, Cubs Early Years (formerly known as Kindie World) caters to children aged 3 – 6 years old believes that every child is a leader and there are limitless boundaries in a child’s learning journey. Offering optional full-day, half-day and extended day including daycare programmes, this preschool develops early learners through play-based and academic learning using the thematic method.

Play-Based and Thematic Curriculum

Founded by passionate, like-minded and experienced team members in the education field for more than 15 years, the carefully crafted modules aim to enable the children to acquire knowledge and skills through a holistic approach. Streamed by age, the kindergarteners are introduced to thematic projects, unit studies, hands-on activities and enriched classes. Emphasis is also placed on numeracy and literacy with lessons taught in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin for a smooth transition to national or international primary schools. Cubs Early Years has thematic lesson plans that cover all learning areas for their 3-6 years old students. The well-rounded six learning areas that are developed at Cubs Early Years are shown as follows:

The Six Learning Strands

Literacy and Communication

Children are encouraged to express their feeling and ideas with a proper manner. Reading will be cultivated.

Numeracy

Explore numbers, spaces, shapes and measurements in a practical context.

Physical and Health

Hygiene and safety are emphasized throughout daily routine.

Creative Arts

Music, movement, storytelling, model-making and more.

Discovery of Our World

Discover and explore the world through science, engineering and culture.

The Whole Me

Building children’s personal qualities, moral values and social skills.

Written by Early Childhood Education academic experts, the balanced curriculum slowly adapts the 3 to 4-year-olds to the idea of learning through play-based with thematic approach while the 5 to 6-year-olds are more serious in their academic and education. As literacy and numeracy are important aspects in children’s academic achievement, this school focuses more on the speaking, reading, writing and counting. Throughout their schooling years at Kindie World, they are familiarized with the fun and engaging concept of Joyful Learning in subjects such as art, messy play, creative cooking, public speaking and presentation, and fitness. To increase their self-awareness and exposure to the real world, the children are also provided with events such as festival celebrations, field trips, holiday programmes and integrated performances with different age groups from theirs.

Integrated Education Hub

Attached together with Kindie World on the other side is the respected Integrated National Curriculum School (INCS) that places primary and secondary students in national syllabus. Umbrellaed under the same management and facilities, Cub Early Years preschoolers have the utmost advantage when it comes to social skills and real experiences of the outside world. In special occasions such as festival celebrations, concerts and performances, the two academies merge together thus enabling the preschoolers to properly socialize with different ages, cognitively maturing, and familiar with higher formal learning environment.

Cubs Early Years’ Joyful Learners

Cubs Early Years’ main priority is the children’s cognitive, emotional, physical, and social growth to be holistically stimulated. This school’s play and thematic approaches allowed the learners to wonder, discover and relate with their real-world surrounding. With positive exposures of different age groups and roles, the learners are capable of developing good social skills, self-awareness, respectful values and positive mindset towards others. Good character values and being successful in academic achievements are the dualistic elements that exemplify what a true good learner is all about.

Our curriculum allows children the freedom of expressions and learning which goes beyond just studying to excel academically. Our practical lesson delivery methodologies combined with our play and thematic approaches enable children to relate the lessons taught to their curiosity, experiences and day-to-day routine. Hence instilling greater knowledge, values and character which would prepare the child to face all life’s challenges ahead. Ms. Jenny Sim and Ms. SP Lee
