Kiddie Cove Playschool & Preschool was born from a deep love for children and a dream to make early learning meaningful, happy, and safe. With nearly three decades of experience in early childhood education, its Founder and Principal, Ms. Faridah Hamzah, envisioned a haven where every child feels seen, valued, and inspired to explore at their own pace.
“Childhood is too precious to rush. These are the only years when learning and play are one and the same. It should be fun, not forced.” says Ms. Faridah Hamzah.
Established in 2021, Kiddie Cove is fully licensed by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM). It welcomes children aged 2 to 6 years old, divided into playschool and preschool levels, operating from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. With small teacher-student ratios – as low as 2:6 for toddlers – the school ensures individual attention, a calm rhythm, and authentic connections between teachers and children.
A School Built on Love and Connection
Learning is about progress, not perfection. The focus is on nurturing confidence, creativity, empathy, and joy through hands-on exploration and play. Each child is known personally for their quirks, preferences, and even the little details that make them unique.
Instead of rushing through lessons, teachers slow down to listen, observe, and celebrate milestones, both big and small. “When a teacher notices a child’s favourite colour or praises their effort, it builds confidence,” the founder explains. “Once a child feels loved and understood, learning becomes effortless.”

Our Blended & Effective Approach
At Kiddie Cove, we believe every child is curious, capable, and full of potential. Our approach combines the best of several renowned early childhood frameworks – EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) from the UK, Kurikulum Prasekolah 2026 (KP 2026), PERMATA, and STEM education – to create a rich, balanced, and meaningful learning experience for children aged 2 to 6 years old.
EYFS – Learning Through Play
We follow the EYFS principles where learning happens through hands-on experiences, exploration, and play. Children at Kiddie Cove learn to think creatively, communicate confidently, and build strong social and emotional skills, all while having fun! Our curriculum focuses on the seven areas of learning and development, ensuring each child grows at their own pace.
KP 2026 – Malaysian Preschool Standards
We align with KP 2026, the Malaysian national preschool curriculum, to ensure children meet age-appropriate learning goals and are well-prepared for formal schooling. Our daily routines and lesson plans reflect the national standards while keeping learning engaging and child-centred.
PERMATA – Holistic Child Development
Inspired by PERMATA’s holistic philosophy, Kiddie Cove nurtures every aspect of a child’s growth; cognitive, emotional, social, spiritual, and physical. We emphasize love, care, and respect in our classrooms, creating a safe and warm environment where children feel confident to explore and express themselves.
STEM – Learning by Doing
Through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) activities, our little learners develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills from an early age. From simple science experiments to creative building projects, we encourage curiosity, discovery, and “why” questions – turning every child into a young explorer!

But Kiddie Cove adds its own special twist: lessons are child-led, play-based, and rooted in real-world experiences.
Each month carries a creative theme – from “Food Around the World” to “Animals and Nature” – inspiring children to learn through cooking sessions, sensory play, and interactive projects. Parents are often invited to join in, turning the classroom into a lively community where learning happens through shared joy.
The curriculum extends beyond academics, blending life skills into daily routines. Children learn how to cook simple dishes, garden, fold clothes, use household tools, and care for their belongings. These everyday lessons nurture independence, gratitude, and responsibility; essential values that prepare them for life.

Every inch of Kiddie Cove is designed to make children feel at home. Bright, cosy classrooms filled with soft hues, child-sized furniture, and inviting textures create a sense of calm and belonging. The school celebrates every child’s creativity by displaying their artwork and crafts proudly on the walls, transforming the space into a living gallery of imagination and growth.
The “Wall of Fame” showcases each child’s progress, while cozy reading corners, pretend-play areas, and a mini cooking corner encourage exploration. Kiddie Cove even has small pets like turtles and hamsters, giving children a chance to learn compassion and care through real interaction.
Safety, Hygiene, and Care Above All
Parents can rest assured knowing that the school maintains the highest standards of safety and hygiene. Every classroom is sanitised daily, toys are disinfected regularly, and all plush items and mats are washed weekly. The school is equipped with CCTV coverage, fire safety systems, and first aid–trained teachers, ensuring a secure environment at all times.
Healthy, home-cooked meals are freshly prepared and delivered daily from wholesome dishes with rice, soups, fruits, and mild flavours to suit both local and international children. Every meal is planned with nutrition and comfort in mind, making lunchtime another happy learning experience.

“Teaching here means sitting with the children, playing, talking, and listening,” Ms. Faridah explains. “When they feel safe to express themselves, that’s when real learning begins.” Teachers receive regular training and attend professional development courses, ensuring that their skills grow alongside their passion for nurturing young minds.
A Close-Knit Relationship with Parents
Education works best when parents and teachers grow together. Communication is open and transparent, facilitated through ClassDojo application and WhatsApp updates. Parents receive photos and videos of their child’s activities daily, offering peace of mind and a sense of connection even when they’re away at work.
The school also embraces cultural diversity through family participation in celebrations; Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Hari Raya, Christmas, and more. Parents are invited to cook, decorate, and share their traditions, creating a multicultural learning experience for all children.
