Motherly Care And Attention

Be Smarts has a long-standing and proud history stemming from 2005. The first Be Smarts was opened in Jalan Kuching (Be Smarts Jalan Kuching). Upon many requests from parents, the second, recently-opened branch is situated on the ground floor of Putra Majestik complex on Jalan Kasipillay (Be Smarts Jalan Ipoh). Be Smarts is a boutique kindergarten, offering motherly care and attention in a multiracial environment for children aged between 3-6 years old.

Founded by a former teacher; a lifelong educator, Ms Meera Devi is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to providing quality early childhood education. Apart from its meaningful, inclusive early learning opportunities, the majority of parents who had enrolled their children at Be Smarts did so partly because of who Ms Meera Devi is, and a team of highly dedicated educators whom she had handpicked to teach at Be Smarts. To date, Be Smarts has two branches, and both of them are not franchised; they are privately owned and operated by the principal herself.

Be Smarts believes every child, from the very beginning, must be able to not just ‘know’ and collect and store information but to consciously able to apply the ‘know’ and information for the betterment of society in which the child grows.– Ms Meera Devi

Be Smarts focuses on equipping her multiracial children with a rock-solid foundation in reading, writing and counting before they step into Year One. While learning to read, write and count are emphasised, Be Smarts also emphasises the importance of improving the child’s experience of the transition to primary school.

Quality Educational Programmes That Are Affordable

Be Smarts offers a completely straightforward curriculum; one that’s up-to-date offering all the critical subjects one needs and none that one doesn’t. The straightforward curriculum with an emphasis on English and Bahasa Melayu; taught by a team of experienced educators. The curriculum in the early years content at Be Smart thus outlines only essential academic subjects that they know best will support the learning of children from 3 to 6 years.

We are committed to assisting our kids to achieve their greatest potential in education by emphasising on these 3 basic skills; learning to read, write and count. Our focus has always thus been on reading, writing, counting to provide them with a very solid foundation before they step into Year 1 of primary school.says Ms Meera Devi

Local outings occur regularly at Be Smarts. Principal Meera is a big believer that delivering early childhood education is enhanced by making planned outings; ones that are able to provide unique learning experiences that can’t be obtained in classrooms. Annual concerts, for instance, benefit not only children but also the teaching staff and parents. Such activities provide an excellent opportunity for children to express what they have learned. Excursions to folks home and orphanages teach children the value of appreciation and thankfulness. Apart from biannual parent-teacher meetings, parents receive daily, real-time updates what goes on in the classroom from teachers and the principal herself.

Embracing Diversity

One of the basic principles of education at Be Smarts is that the school has always emphasised the need to teach the children to embrace diversity; to respect as well as to celebrate differences.

Where better to start than in a ‘ children’s garden’? Inculcating the necessity to live in peace and harmony should begin early – the formative years of a child.adds Ms Meera Devi

Malaysia has a number of religious and cultural festivals. Every year, without fail, Ms Meera organises special assemblies to celebrate our country’s festivals. The principal went to great length to ensure that her teaching staff and her pupils are equally clad in traditional costumes of various races. The goal of these special assemblies is to instil the Malaysian spirit among students of different races.
