Tadika Bestari Seri Utama is a kindergarten located in Kota Damansara that utilizes the 3Q MRC Junior programme catering to children aged 3-6 years old. The programme emphasizes the well-balanced development of a child and aims to prepare children for their primary school years.
Tadika Bestari Seri Utama stands out amongst the row of white terrace houses with its bright yellow and green exterior. Ms. Yvonne, the owner of the kindergarten, greeted me with a big warm smile before giving me a brief introduction of her kindergarten. Ms. Yvonne took over the kindergarten 5 years ago and through hard work and determination she managed to build Tadika Bestari Seri Utama into the lively kindergarten that it is today. With another branch in nearby Section 6, Ms. Yvonne is left with very little time for herself.
The kindergarten utilises the proven 3Q™ system which allows children to learn using the most effective study tools that synchronises their left and right brain to nurture whole brain development. The program provides 11 different subjects based on age, ranging from 3.5-6 years old.

Learning is made fun through creative activities such as sing-along rhymes, storytelling sessions, pictorial learning and games. The learning experience is further enhanced with guided reading sessions and cartoon animation. One of the signature features of the 3Q MRC system is the Flazzle Card that combines flashcards and picture puzzles. It is a very useful feature in helping children learn how to read in three different languages (English, Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese) and improve their words recognition ability.
Children would also learn 9 bead abacus to strengthen their arithmetic and cognitive skills. Together all these features make classes more engaging and children would be able to develop their mental processes, language capabilities and promote whole brain learning.
Besides developing and enhancing their academic skills, the children’s life skills are also cultivated through the 3Q MRC syllabus. There is a moral textbook containing stories that have been carefully crafted to instill in children virtues and standards, and to develop compassion, kindness and responsible decision-making. It is important for the character development of a child. The 3Q SmartME is a series of activities that empowers children with the skills to become independent by helping them understand their environment and how it works. Children will learn various skills such as grooming, dressing, housekeeping, caring for the environment, hand-eye coordination, and interpersonal skills that will enable them to take care of themselves. Acquiring these skills would help to produce positive behavioral outcomes.
The 3Q MRC syllabus is complete with art & craft and music classes to hone the children’s creativity and stimulate their imaginations. Other than that, there is also talent development where students may be sent for the 3Q Talent Competition to compete with other 3Q MRC kindergartens in Malaysia. Tadika Bestari Seri Utama takes pride in that they have won at the state level with their singing talent and made it into the finals which was held at Genting Highlands. There are also optional enrichment classes like taekwondo offered to children who want to have more physical activities.
Ms. Yvonne believes that what makes a kindergarten stand out from others lie in the teachers and caregivers. The teachers at Tadika Bestari Seri Utama regularly attend training and development courses to improve the quality of teaching and keep abreast with the latest practices. All the teachers are experienced in early childhood education. During my visit, it was meal time and a group of children were seated in the dining area patiently waiting for their food. I noted this because it was quite unusual for a group of hungry preschool children to be this patient and well-mannered. Well done, Tadika Bestari Seri Utama!
