Smart Soleh Integrated Preschool, Saujana Utama, Sungai Buloh

Smart Soleh Integrated Preschool, located in the serene neighbourhoods of Bandar Saujana Utama, Sungai Buloh has much to offer to the local community. I was warmly greeted by the principal, Puan Zulia, at the gate as she ushered me in. Smart Soleh started humbly in 2007 and as of today have 6 schools located all over Malaysia.

As I stepped into the spacious school, I was immediately greeted by the children with a big “Assalammualaikum!”. It seemed that the children were prepping for their activity of the day, Sunnah Food Deco. After spending a few minutes with the children, Puan Zulia led me to the office to start our interview. It was clear to me that the kids absolutely loved and adored Puan Zulia and all their teachers there.

Producing Excellent Students In This World and Hereafter

The school envisions itself to be the best preschool that is able to produce excellent students in this world and in the hereafter. Puan Zulia explained that Smart Soleh emphasises on manners and morals so that their children become successful yet zuhud when they grow up. Here, the teachers make sure that all the basic skills are developed and nurtured; reading, writing, counting, and reasoning using their proven methods, Smart Soleh books, and phonic methods. 1-to-1 reading lessons are also conducted in the school.

Enriching Curriculum with Exciting Activities

Smart Soleh, a licensed preschool under the Ministry of Education Malaysia, uses the Standard National Preschool Curriculum (KSPK) with enrichments such as STEAM projects and additional Islamic subjects such as Ibadah, Akhlak, Sirah, and Arabic language in their syllabus. Aside from their enriching syllabus, Smart Soleh also offers a plethora of extracurricular activities such as taekwondo and robotics class, a collaboration between Smart Soleh and Jazari Robots, officially commencing in 2021. To prepare for hereafter, Smart Soleh also equips their students with hafazan (reciting) lessons and solat practical to ensure each child becomes the best Muslim.

Besides taekwondo and robotics classes, the school also holds outdoor learning, where children will visit places such as the mosque or playground to implement what they have learnt in class, such as adab when visiting the mosque besides educational field trips to places of interest. Ithifal and convocations are also held annually to celebrate the students of Smart Soleh.

Smart Soleh operates from 7.00 am to 7.00 pm, Monday to Friday, with full-day and half-day classes for children ages 4 to 6 years old.

Experienced, Loving Teachers

Smart Soleh acknowledges the importance of teachers at the school and that’s why only the best are employed here. Teachers here are experienced and qualified, with a diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education, and are passionate and loving when it comes to nurturing children. Before being employed at Smart Soleh, candidates go through mock teaching, where candidates are given real life situations and are assessed based on how they handle them. Monthly trainings in various areas such as classroom management, literacy, and also spiritually are also held to make sure these educators are fit and ready to teach. Usrahs are also a routine at Smart Soleh to strengthen the bond between teachers.

Fostering Positive Relations

Fostering positive relations with the parents is also super important at Smart Soleh! Parents are constantly updated on their child’s progress via WhatsApp, social media, and a communication book that records down all progresses, achievements, and/or obstacles the child is facing at school. The school believes that it is important for parents to work hand in hand with the school to ease their child’s learning. Thus, every year before the start of a new term, Smart Soleh arranges a ‘A Day In Their Shoes’ programme for parents so that they can understand and feel what it’s like to become their child, learning and exploring new things in the coming school year. Other than that, parenting talks are also held to help parents navigate their way through parenthood. Parent-child projects, such as STEAM projects, and also talks, help foster better parent-child relationship, are also available at the school.

Safe & Secure

Smart Soleh is equipped with CCTVs and grills to ensure the safety of their students. The residential area is also guarded for maximum security. The school implements strict SOP such as temperature recording when they enter school, and each child’s belongings are thoroughly sanitised everyday after school by the teachers.
