Leo Preschool caters to the varying needs of children and parents. The half-day programme runs from 8:15 AM to 12:15 PM, while the full-day programme extends until 6:00 PM, making it convenient for working parents.
The curriculum follows Malaysia’s National Preschool Standard Curriculum (KSPK), enhanced with the Montessori approach and hands-on learning activities that keep young minds engaged and curious. From a young age, children are introduced to subjects like Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin, and Mathematics through interactive lessons and play-based exploration.
One standout offering is the Smart Language Programme, an in-house phonics programme that introduces children as young as 3 to the foundations of the English language. By the time they’re 6, children are confidently reading, blending sentences, and ready for primary school, whether they choose to attend Sekolah Kebangsaan, Chinese vernacular schools (SJKC), or international pathways like IGCSE.
Young learners start with activities like finger-writing in sand to improve motor skills and pencil grip, gradually progressing to more advanced tasks to build their confidence. Meanwhile, thematic lessons, like celebrating World Green Day or learning about recycling, help children relate what they learn in the classroom to real-world issues.
A typical day at Leo Preschool
The day begins with energising ice-breaking activities or circle time, allowing children to share and build up their communication skills and a sense of belonging. Mondays are extra special as there is a weekly assembly, while the rest of the week will see fun activities such as singing and dancing.
From 8:15 AM, the children will dive into subjects like Mandarin, suku kata, and arts and crafts. But it’s not just about books—Leo Preschool’s teachers bring creativity into the classroom with activities like matching capital and lowercase letters through storytelling or conducting science experiments to explore concepts like freezing and melting.
In the afternoons, children can take part in enrichment classes such as language classes, robotics, music, and Taekwondo, giving them opportunities to discover their talents and refine their skills.
Learning life skills for independence
Education is never just about academics, but the holistic development of a child – which is why Leo Preschool includes practical life skills as a core part of the child’s learning. Tasks such as carrying their own bags, washing their hands, recycling, and queueing help to instil responsibility and discipline from a young age.
Peer support helps too – children tend to do better when observing that their friends can perform the same tasks, and it motivates them to be more independent.

To maintain a clean and healthy environment, the school follows strict hygiene practices, including daily sanitisation and a thorough deep clean every weekend.
The school’s spaces are thoughtfully designed to inspire learning and play. The hall has a large stage where they can put on performances and express themselves. Meanwhile, classrooms have dedicated learning corners for literacy, arts, and crafts, while the outdoor playground and pool offers space for physical activities and exploration.
One of the children’s favourite features? The outdoor school bus that’s been transformed into a cosy and inviting library, where young bookworms can dive into stories.
Teachers who inspire and care
Teaching is a calling at Leo Preschool. Staff members are carefully selected for their qualifications and experience, as well as a genuine love for working with children. Teachers undergo training programmes at My Business Academy, a vocational school accredited by the Malaysian government and known for its early childhood education programmes, so they are well equipped with the skills needed to create engaging, child-centred experiences; while caretakers are KAP-certified.
A low adult-to-student ratio of 1:3 for Taska (infant and toddler care) and 1:10 for Tadika (preschool) ensures each child receives the personal attention they need to thrive. Small classes also enable teachers and caretakers to build strong bonds with the child – and they can confidently share with parents each child’s strengths and areas of improvement.
Communication with parents is a top priority, with regular updates shared via WhatsApp groups or logbooks, depending on the child’s age group. Twice a year, Parent-Teacher Meetings provide an opportunity to discuss the children’s progress in detail. The school also hosts events like Sports Day, annual concerts, and educational outings, encouraging parents to join in the fun and be part of their child’s learning journey.
