From Toy Store To Day Care Centre
Some parents might already be familiar with Js Brain Toys; an educational toy store-cum-play centre; the one if not the only authorised seller of all things Kumon’s educational toys in Malaysia. Conveniently situated in a shop-office development, Sunsuria 7th Avenue in Setia Alam, the three-storey Just Awesome Day Care Centre is an offshoot of Js Brain Toys.
Due to the strong showing of support and requests, co-founders of Js Brain Toys; who are parents themselves, decided to turn Js Brain Toys into more than what a conventional toy shop has to offer – a daycare centre, with lots and lots of toys in it for children to play with.
Play Is A Child’s Context For Learning
Play provides rich learning opportunities. It also helps provide an outlet for anxiety and stress. Using mostly educational books and also toys from Kumon, the director, Ms Ng Pooi Mun, went to great lengths to ensure that play and learning go hand-in-hand at Just Awesome Day Care.
The centre offers several types of play that are simultaneously symbolic, sociodramatic, and functional. There are also games with rules that teach children a critically important concept about life itself – that life has rules (laws) that we all must follow to function productively in society. The goal of this is to ensure that learning that can’t be achieved through a worksheet, is achieved during play. The following areas of learning and playing are offered.

Day Care Teachers
Teachers at Just Awesome Day Care are highly trained and highly compassionate in what they do. In a loving and nurturing learning environment, teachers encourage children to develop their creativity and self-expression while ensuring educational excellence. Teachers also ensure that parents stay involved in their child’s progress; through phone calls, e-mails, as well as invitations to participate in class activities.
Fun And Child-Centered Learning Environment
Just Awesome Day Care Centre uses the open space concept to allow children to explore and socialise in a secured space. Occupying over 3500 sq. ft. of space, the centre provides ample space for children to move around freely and play safely.
There are dedicated spaces for arts, science, reading corners, Brain Puzzles, and learning. Children can stretch their imaginations and experiment with language and emotions with fantasy play on the second floor through a variety of Electronic Games that are equipped with an Augmented Reality capability.
