Situated in the quaint neighbourhood of Putra Heights is a kindergarten that is run by a team of dedicated early childhood educators. Occupying the corner lot of a row of terrace houses is 3Q MRC Junior (aka Tadika Junior Anak Gemilang) with its exterior painted in a vibrant shade of yellow. This gave the kindergarten a bright and lively atmosphere which perfectly complimented its tagline of “learning through play, play through learning”.
3Q MRC Junior Putra Heights started operating in 2015 under the care and stewardship of its principal, Ms. Rachel Tay. After having a family of her own, Ms. Rachel’s motherly instincts prompted her to look for the best methods to nurture, guide and develope her young children.
She then decided to quit her 9-to-5 desk job and started Tadika Junior Anak Gemilang under the 3Q MRC Junior banner with the noble aim of helping the little ones build the social and emotional skills they needed to succeed in school and in life. 3Q MRC Junior provides a well-researched unique whole brain education program to nurture the little ones into young and confident children. The program includes 11 different subjects according to the age group:

On top of these subjects, there are also Super Memory Map learning skills, Flazzle Card words recognition, talent development and character building activities to provide the child with a holistic as well as enriching preschool experience.
Having well established and proven programmes such as those offered by 3Q MRC Junior Putra Heights counts for little without the proper teaching methodology and delivery of their qualified, experienced and dedicated educators. Teachers at the kindergarten have been fully trained under the program and most of them possess at least a diploma in Early Childhood Education.
3Q MRC Junior Putra Heights applies a weekly thematic approach in conducting lessons. Subjects taught within a certain week would all be based upon a single theme as this will enable the children to better relate to their learning of different subjects. Themes that have been explored include Our environment and My body. It should also be noted that at 3Q MRC Junior Putra Heights, all their subjects are offered in the 3 major languages of Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin including Mathematics and Science.
Besides the workbooks provided under the syllabus, Ms. Rachel would prepare extra worksheets especially for students who may need a little more time and attention. There is also an e-platform where students would be able to log in with their ID to practice at home according to the chapters, allowing them to prepare for the next day’s lessons.
This is also an excellent avenue for students and their parents to interact and bond with each other over the lessons contained on the e-platform. Hence, promoting family unity, togetherness and good family values.
Where lessons are taught, one cannot avoid tests and related progress reports. In fact, these reporting tools are effective measurements as to a student’s progress or the lack of it. However, today’s kindergartens have done away with tests and replaced them with assessments. These assessments are done without a marking system. Hence no class rankings are tabulated. Instead, students who are weaker are identified and given extra and more personalized coaching so that they are able to be on par with their peers.
A holistic preschool experience today will not be complete without holiday programmes, enrichment classes and extracurricular activities. Presently 3Q MRC Junior Putra Heights offers an optional clay making class once a week with plans to offer additional classes such as music and movement, taekwondo and children’s yoga. They also organize their own sports day and concert day with excursions and visits to places of interest such as the Farm in the City.
