Picture this. As black as coal is, tonight it is just a little bit darker. It is 2 am in the morning. The lightless landscape is blanketed in a light drizzle. In the silence, the little droplets of rain crash against the window pane, seeking a crack into which they can seep, like a traveler wandering the dark, lonely night looking for a fire to warm his tired limbs and a bed to rest his weary head. In the distance a dog barks, as if greeting an old friend.

Meanwhile, you are seated in a warm cosy café downstairs. A hot cup of coffee in front of you, a good book in your hand and strands of Whitney Houston’s “I will always love you” softly wafting through the air. You smile, striking up a conversation with the parent seated at the next table. You are waiting for your children to finish their art lesson. You are waiting for your children to finish painting the above scene. You are waiting at MuzArt Learning Centre in Bandar Puchong Jaya.

With a tagline that reads, “We Believe Everyone Can Be Creative”, MuzArt is not your ordinary art centre where children come to paint and are sent home after the day’s lesson. MuzArt is a unique art academy where there is a meticulously structured curriculum and syllabus where every creative developmental stage of a child is acknowledged, encouraged and enhanced.

Just like all good and well-structured organisations today, MuzArt has formulated its very own Vision and Mission statements:

Vision

To be the leading talent cultivation organization in Asia

Mission

Open the door to wisdom by inspiring creativity and nurturing a joyful society through art

With these Vision and Mission statements in place, MuzArt have gone about their business with clear goals and objectives to achieve. And MuzArt has demonstrated very clearly that it is not just a place where children come to learn colouring and drawing. Besides the various proper art concepts and techniques, children at MuzArt are also nurtured in and taught to actively engage in:

Visual Learning

A student will achieve better understanding and retain more information when ideas, words and concepts are associated with images

Role Playing

This is a fun and playful activity which is also a key component of a child’s learning

Craft Activities

These simple activities will help to develop the students’ fine motor skills

Creative Play

Through art and creative play children can reimagine learning through play, are made aware of the importance of recycling, and become more aware of their social, moral and scientific environments

Story Telling

Story telling will help to motivate learners and create a more immersive experience and imagination

Famous Artist History

Art history and art appreciation lessons will help students look at the works of a particular artist by examining their style and the materials they used

Mr. Tan Lek Siang, the Principal / Manager says, “We liken our unique methods to our DNA – we are all the same, but we are all different.” Contained in a test tube, DNA looks exactly the same for every organism on Earth. Scientifically, it is the order of the letters in the code that makes each organism different. These differences are what makes each one of us unique. Hence, the creative folks at MuzArt has come up with MuzArt’s 5 unique DNA structures that will differentiate them from other art centres.

MuzArt 5 unique DNA structures

Music development with sub-conciousness

MuzArt uses music to stimulate the children’s subconscious creative minds enabling them to make use of their innovative thinking processes under different circumstances

Distinctive art teaching

While stimulating the children’s originality, MuzArt teaches proper art techniques instead of being just a general painting centre, children are encouraged to use their creativity

Making homework more interesting and easier to learn

Children are encouraged to learn their compulsory subjects in a fun way

Intelligence development based on age group

MuzArt is the only centre that developes art courses according to the children’s age, being aware that children have varying needs for intelligence development. For example, a 2-year old child will learn to coordinate his hands and eyes. A 5-year old enjoy will explore the world around him. Then when he is 9 years old he will be eager to know the world.

One-to-one teaching mode and teaching in small classes

Given the distinctive features in MuzArt, children’s imagination is integrated into the teaching process in one-to-one mode. In this process of teaching, it is much easier for teachers to get to know a students’ mind and body growth in a bid to provide art solutions. Together with parents, teachers help the children grow and gain wisdom.

To further add value to their already comprehensive syllabus, curriculum and methods, MuzArt also has a clear road map detailing different stages, different ages and the different skills the students will be learning. There is a very clear overview of what a student can learn and the objectives he would have attained at the end of every stage.

Even the MuzArt logo has been designed with a specific aim and purpose in mind. The splash of colour represents water. This means that each member of MuzArt, be it students, teachers and even parents, are likened to water in that everyone of us can adapt to all kinds of situations just as water can be frozen into ice or evaporated into steam. Being so adaptable, water also represents the great joy, novelty and wisdom MuzArt Learning Centre wishes to share with its students, teachers and parents.

Dear parents and students, you are cordially invited to sample a piece of the pie (literally, at the café downstairs) that MuzArt Learning Centre is offering. Innovative teaching and learning methods plus conducive environments are the norm. Together with joy, novelty and wisdom, MuzArt Learning Centre is the place to be. Meanwhile, you are seated in the warm cosy café. A hot cup of coffee in front of you, a good book in your hand and strands of Whitney Houston’s “I will always love you” softly wafting through the air. You smile………..
