Established in June 2014, Babies and Casa is an early learning institute offering progressive educational programmes where children are engaged in self-directed learning for discovery, exploration and science. Babies and Casa uses the Montessori educational model as the foundation of their educational philosophy to teach a broad spectrum of young enthusiastic learners. The Montessori based educational programmes at Babies and Casa are a natural fit for divergent learners or children with learning differences, giving each child a variety of choices and pursuits to learn in a way that is comfortable and age-appropriate – letting the child lead the lessons. The following areas of learning are offered:
a) NIDO (8 weeks – 18 months)
Children are supervised by a qualified Montessori directress as well as trained nurses and teachers who are equipped with quality materials that offer the child the opportunity to grow and develop.
b) Infant Community (1.5 years – 3 years)
Children are encouraged to explore new methods for movement and independence, the development of spoken language and are also exposed to art, music, sensorial, mathematical critical thinking and practical life activities through many direct and indirect lessons.
c) CASA (3 years – 6 years)
Children select their own activities and work independently at their own pace under the supervision of the Montessori teachers. These activities are to trigger children’s curiosity in specific yet integrated areas of the classroom – Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics and Culture.
