The Studio

Inside the studio is a true character of an artist’s space. It is simple yet strikingly colourful. The space is clean and neat, structured to the level of artistic perfectionism. Unique knots and grains from wooden accents and furnishings lend a warm, cozy ambiance to the entire environment. To strike a well balance, the entrance opens up to a rainbow toned brick wall.

The studio is decorated with none other than a collection of children’s artwork and awe-inspiring craft pieces. Every learning space is filled natural light – a very important detail in any artist’s studio – making it possible for learners to pick up basic concepts such as shadows and shading.

Art Programmes
At the heart of MY Art Studio are two main programmes that provide ample avenues for children to express their emotions, showcase their life experiences and be engaged in innovative thinking. The aforementioned programmes are:
- Children Creativity Development Course (CCDC) (3-7 years old)
- Children Graphic Course (CGC) (8-12 years old)

The Art Approach
The programmes highly regard the importance of providing children with the artistic freedom to make their own creative choices. Creative direction is steered by themes and topics such as space discovery, food, culture and animals. Children draw inspiration from games, videos, stories, role play, object observation, hearing creation and artist study.

Professionally trained teachers guide children through experimentation using oil pastels, soft pastels, watercolours, poster colours, acrylic paint, marker pens and more. The programmes are designed for children’s explorative engagement with an array of techniques and effects including pointillism, finger stamping, impasto and wash drawing.

Festival Handicraft
A selection of quarterly craft sessions is curated based on some of the region’s most anticipated festivals, such as Chinese New Year, Christmas, Parent’s Day and Mid-Autumn Festival.

Broad Outlook
Since its inception, MY Art Studio has been dedicated in providing resources for broadening learning experiences outside the walls of the art studio. They include:
01)MY Art School Holiday Programme
Holiday programmes are organized every school term break, bringing children to destinations such as Skytrex Adventure and Bubble Sports centre. Through these outings, children get the chance to develop valuable social and interpersonal skills, while stepping up confidence levels.

02)MY Art Events
Prepare your planners to keep track of events that will be unveiled throughout the year, including My Art Studio’s annual Halloween celebration where children will come together to partake in a costume contest, get crafty and go trick-or-treating. Past event highlights include craft roadshows featuring craft supplies and demonstrations for Mid-Autumn Festival in Atria Shopping Gallery, Cultural Fair at EcoWorld and Easter celebrations held in collaboration with Titijaya Land Berhad.

03)MY Art Competition
Every year, children are given the opportunity to participate in the Golden Bear Award, an international art competition organized by the headquarters for children. This platform gives budding young artists to display their artistic abilities, while gaining motivation to develop their creative skills and evaluate their techniques.

The art studio boasts an amazing track record of achievement including national second runner-up in the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest 2017. It was a proud moment as the student also bagged a consolation prize amongst international contestants.

Space for Events
On top of everything, the facility makes a good alternative venue option for parents to host their children’s parties. The space is versatile and can be customized to match every theme of preference.

Beyond Artistic Development
Aesthetic experiences involved in creating visual art go beyond artistic development. They stimulate the whole brain and nurture the following areas of development:
- Creativity Development
- Intellectual Development
- Social Development
- Perceptual Development
- Sense Development
- Motion Development
- Psychological Development
- Aesthetic Development
All in all, as the children grow and achieve new heights artistically, they will concurrently develop self-esteem, self-expression, patience, independence, improved attitude and behaviour, respect, discipline, and the ability to cooperate with others. Last but not least, teachers at MY Art Studio just want children to continue making art, share art and keep that creative passion burning.
