Still remember what was the fondest memory that you had with your little darlings? Probably you should sit back now, and let yourself sink in your deepest thought –  One… Two…Got it? If you are able to recall it vividly, good for you! But for those who are still thinking hard, fret no more. There will be plenty of adventurous activities in the coming May and June awaiting you!


1. Teddy & Friends Day Out at Suria KLCC

Want something more than just dinosaurs for your children? Never mind, you can opt for the kids-friendly companions with which they can hang out- TEDDY! Meet them at the annual event “Teddy & Friends Day Out” at Suria KLCC during the period from 24th until 30th May 2013.

To those who have not been to this event before, it’s actually the time for your children to bring along their teddy. There will also be other assorted exciting activities which are going to ensure them to have a blastful day with the other children. For instance, in last year, the event themed “Adventure Land, Safari Jungle” kicked off with a treasure hunt, challenging children physically and mentally. After completing the challenge, they proceeded to KL Convention Centre for indoor activities such as sand art, face painting, pumpkin patch colouring contest and fridge magnet workshop.

And yeah, one more thing, all the ticket fees will be channelled to NASOM as the fund to help autistic children. So, do come and join this exciting charity drive!

2. The Ice Age Experience

What does prehistoric life always remind you of? Raging dinosaurs with sharp clenching teeth, giant mosquitoes, or man-eating plants? Bring your children along to visit “The Ice Age Experience”, which will bring you to transcend the barrier of time and back to the historical Ice Age- in both educational and entertaining way.

It’s noteworthy to mention that the history of Ice Age will educate the audience about values and elements like conservation, preservation, migration, extinction and survival. Besides, an array of creatures such as Sabertooth Tiger, Mossasaur, Mammoth, Sloth are going to be eye-catching as well. They are depicted in in the form of life-like sculptures, which means they will move and interact with you!

So, if dinosaurs no longer give you and your young ones much surprises, most probably Ice Age creatures can give you the whole new experiences, and better appreciation for the wonders of Mother Earth!

3. Sultans of Science: Islamic Science Rediscovered

Do you know the names of the Muslim adventurers who made their bold travel to China and other countries? Who are the Muslim scientists who invented robot? Then a visit to the “Sultans of Science” exhibition is a must for you to open your eyes to these!

 “Sultans of Science”, a travelling exhibition on Islamic Science Rediscovered that celebrates the contribution of Muslim Scholars in Science and Technology during the Golden Age of the Islamic World, will give your children more impacts both visually and intellectually.

Besides, your children’s appreciation for the knowledge and inventions of the ancient Muslim Scholars will be nurtured, as they are going to know the influences of this Muslim civilization on the contemporary world. Nine main fields of Islamic scientific endeavour, namely architecture and aviation, medicine, fine technology and invention, mathematics and navigation, optics, engineering, astronomy and instrument making are going to be showcased.

That’s not all about it! There are also plenty of activities such as workshops, science shows and busking awaiting you. “Automata Cardboard” will engage you in constructing self-operating machine; while “The Stand-Up Science Show” allow you to explore the unique features of our body as the main star of this science show… And one more interesting section – do you know how to use your knuckles to determine how many days in a month? Then you should really come to “Knuckle Knows” to know more about it!

4. Jurassic & Ice Age Adventure at i-City

What usually conjures up the terrifying scenes? Well, I’m not quite sure about yours, but to most of the people, I believe Jurassic dinosaurs will definitely pop up in the mind first!  

Here is your chance! From now onwards until June 15, you can explore Jurassic & Ice Age Adventure at i–City, Shah Alam with your children.

Best of all, there are going to be feature 25 life-sized animatronic creatures-not just static props- together with the items from extinction of dinosaurs until the ice age period. You’ll also want to gain insights from the historical discoveries of Dinosaur Revolution to the commencement of the ice age by following the “PrehistoricTrail”. For instance, you will get to learn about the extinction of deadly creatures of the Mesozoic era subsequent to a major catastrophe that drove planet Earth into a frozen epoch of time.

Children like stories. Join the palaeontologists in re-enacting history during scheduled museum tours to let our future generation to gain more awareness about environmental protection, before another major extinction event befalls on us.

Do not miss such an enthralling and educating adventure! Remember, take them on a journey by foot to an awe-inspiring adventure 2.6 million years back in time- before June 15!
