Programmes: Nursery and Kindergarten
Nursery Group
In Nursery group, all five senses are incorporated into their daily learning experience. As children see, touch and explore, they gain concrete understanding of many concepts through hands-on practice using Montessori apparatus, before moving on to grasping abstract concepts when they progress to Kindergarten level. Apart from the five main elements in Montessori syllabus – Practical Life, Sensorial, Montessori Mathematics, Phonics and Cultural, children are also exposed to Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin, music and Art & Craft. While children from Nursery group mainly learn through hands-on activities, we also gradually introduce MOE’s latest preschool curriculum in Thematic teaching with minimal usage of Multimedia as well as simple worksheets. Indoor Gym session and outdoor playground time play an important part in children’s physical development.
Kindergarten Group
Kindergarten is a wonderful stage of growth in various aspects, not just on academic development. Subjects in Kindergarten group remain the same as they are in Nursery group, but with greater complexity. Nevertheless, learning process continues to be fun. Moving on at their own pace, children are now able to gain a better understanding on abstract concepts especially in Mathematics, Cultural and Language subjects, with the aid of Montessori apparatus to strengthen their foundation. Writing and reading activities are creatively weaved into children’s play while activities to cultivate their critical thinking and problem-solving skills are also incorporated in their learning. Instead of memorizing facts, children learn thematic subjects via interactive multimedia system, interesting worksheet practices and exciting project-based events in line with MOE’s latest preschool curriculum.
